Shahrukh Khan says no to politics
New Delhi, Nov 17: Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan would not follow in the footsteps of yesteryear actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha and Rajesh Khanna and end up joining politics. The actor has put all speculations to rest after he told media persons that he was not interested in joining politics.

Shahrukh might share close rapport with many well-known politicians of India, but he does not harbour the desire to join politics. Shahrukh revealed his disinterest in politics at the HT Leadership Summit in New Delhi on Friday, Nov 16. Shahrukh was one of the panelists at the summit attended by many high profile people.

Asked if he plans to be a politician in future, Shah Rukh Khan said: "I have been asked this question for the past many years. I know many politicians and have huge amount of respect for them. I talk a lot to them too, but politics is not my job profile."

"My job is to make films and entertain people through this medium. I just want that people, who are fed up of continuous ups and downs of the political world, breathe a sigh of relief and get entertained through my films," he added.

Shahrukh shares good rapport with Gandhi family as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were seen cheering his IPL Kolkata cricket team in various matches. Moreover, Shahrukh is also an admirer of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Recently, Shahrukh said that he admires Mamata Banerjee. Shahrukh has accepted West Bengal government's proposal to become brand ambassador of the state.

"Shahrukh Khan has become brand ambassador of West Bengal," Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters.

Now, we can say, politic's loss is Bollywood's gain.
