'Recovered remains belonged to Laila'
Mumbai, Nov 14: Crime branch sources said that DNA tests proved the remains found from late actor Laila Khan's Igatpuri farmhouse, located 126 km north of Mumbai, belonged to the starlet and her family members. The crime branch had filed a charge-sheet in the case and is set to submit the report in the court.

Police said the prime accused, Parvez Tak, had already confessed to murdering Laila and five of her family members with the help of his aide, Shakir Hussain. Police later recovered the remains based on Tak's confession and they were sent for forensic test. Parvez Tak was a stepfather of Laila Khan. The murders were carried out in February last year.

The police had found a couple of knives, an iron rod, two spades, torn clothes of the dead and some gold ornaments. Laila's body was identified with the help of a diamond ring that was gifted to her by her boyfriend.
