EPL: 219th Merseyside derby ends in 2-2 draw

The two local rivals meet yet again at Goodison Park on Sunday as Toffees manager David Moyes marks his 24th clash against the Reds, while Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to achieve a derby victory what Gerard Houllier, Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish failed as newly appointed Liverpool manager.

Moyes has won only four of his 23 Merseyside derby games losing 13 but the Toffees are looking confident after an impressive start to the season compared to Liverpool's dreadful campaign so far. Everton are currently placed fifth against Liverpool's 13th spot.

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini will face a late fitness test as Moyes looks to make minimal changes to his side which drew 1-1 against QPR. South African playmaker Steven Pienaar will serve his one-match ban.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is expected to return to the staring XI after suffering a hamstring injury during international duty with Spain.

The Reds have no other fresh injuries as Lucas Leiva, Fabio Borini and Martin Kelly remain long term absentees.

Jose Enrique is likely to be benched following his poor form with Glen Johnson expected to take his place at left-back. Young right-back Andre Wisdom will retain his place.

*Sunday's clash is the 219th local derby between Liverpool and Everton, the most played fixture in the history of English football.

*Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has scored eight goals, the highest in the Merseyside derby by any player.

Probable Lineups:

Everton (4-4-2): Howard-Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines-Naismith, Neville, Osman, Mirallas-Fellaini-Jelavic

Liverpool (4-3-3): Reina-Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson-Allen, Sahin, Gerrard-Suso, Suarez, Sterling
