F1: After Sachin, now Hrithik Roshan to wave chequered flag

Noida, Oct 27: Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has been chosen by Jaypee Group, organisers of the Formula One Indian Grand Prix, to wave the chequered flag for the second season of Formula One (F1) in Greater Noida on Sunday, Oct 28.

Last year, Sachin Tendulkar did the honours and this time it is Hrithik.

Jaypee Group officials have been quoted as saying, "We have recommended Hrithik's name and we expect to get approval for his name from Formula One Management (FOM) and as well as Bernie Ecclestone."

Along with Hrithik, many other Bollywood celebrities like Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal and Sonakshi Sinha are likely to be present at the venue - Buddh International Circuit (BIC).

While cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh are expected at BIC on Sunday, Sachin and Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not be there to watch the race.

Sports Minister Ajay Maken is also expected to reach BIC as organisers earlier had stated, "We sent him the invite long time ago. We are confident he will come this time."

Maken had not attended the inaugural race last year as he was not extended the invitation well in time.
