New Delhi, Oct 24: If sources are to be believed Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is likely to go for the long-pending Cabinet reshuffle on October 28. Sources further say that there won't be any change in top three posts in the cabinet. However, speculations are rife over Rahul Gandhi joining the cabinet. Many are suggesting that a new ministry would be created to accommodate Rahul in the cabinet.

Analysts say that Congress-led UPA government will offer Rahul a cabinet berth to groom him for Prime Minister's post in the near future. Moreover, general election are slated for 2014.

Along with Rahul getting a plump post, few of his fellow young colleagues will also be inducted into the cabinet, said reports. Some of the young ministers like Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasada may get promoted to Cabinet rank or get independent charge as Minister of State.

Speculation of an imminent cabinet reshuffle gained fresh momentum after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi met the President separately recently.

There has been speculation about reshuffle in the Cabinet for quite some time now, especially after the exit of Trinamool Congress ministers both at the levels of Cabinet and Ministers of State levels. There have been berths vacated by DMK representatives A Raja and Dayanidhi Maran in the last two years after their names cropped in the 2G scam. However, DMK president M Karunanidhi recently made it clear that his party would not like to reclaim their lost berths.
