Mumbai, Oct 16: Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee and her family members have been trying to avoid face-to-face encounter with media persons since Raja Mukherjee was arrested after being accused in a molestation case.

43-year-old Raja, elder brother of the Bollywood actress, was arrested on Sunday, Oct 14 and got bail on Monday. Priya Mishra, a small time television actress-turned-writer, filed molestation case against Raja under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

40-year-old Priya, who wanted to work with Rani in her movie, has been quoted as saying, "Raja told me to meet him and said that if he likes the script and the story he would talk to Rani. We met at the four Bungalow signal. We were going to a coffee shop... took me to a lonely spot at the end of Yari Road."

The complainant informed that when she began to narrate the story, Raja allegedly molested and also stated that he asked her to "compromise" if she wanted Rani in the film. However, when she overruled Raja's "compromise" proposal and got down from the car, she started receiving SMSes from Raja claiming that he did not mean to molest her.

Following the complaints against him, Raja was sent for a medical test and later was taken into police custody in Versova on Sunday. Later, an Andheri court on Monday released him on a personal security of Rs 10,000.

Raja's arrest might have rubbed salt on Rani's wounds as she was already undergoing rough phase as her much-awaited movie "Aiyyaa" failed to impress people.

Rani's close friend Aditya Chopra's father and the chief of Yash Raj Films - Yash Chopra was also admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, Oct 13 after being diagnosed with dengue.

Yash Raj film's spokesperson has been quoted as saying, "Yash Chopra was admitted to hospital on Saturday after being diagnosed with an attack of dengue. He has been kept under observation. He is feeling much better and should be home soon. Thank you all for your concern and best wishes."
