Karnataka Tragedy: Train catches fire, two passengers dead

Bangalore, Oct 16: A passenger train caught fire leading to the death of two commuters near Gulbarga in North Karnataka on Tuesday, Oct 16. Early report suggests that seven passengers were also injured in the tragedy.

Hyderabad-Solapur Falaknuma passenger express caught fire around 1.30 pm, after the train had made its scheduled stop at the Gulbarga railway station. Gulbarga is around 600 km from Bangalore.

Two coaches of the train were gutted in the fire. The fire was brought under control as the train was stationary when it caught fire. Some passengers were stuck inside the coaches that caught fire.

The reason behind the fire is still unclear. A probe has been ordered to find the reason behind the mishap.
