IAC members protest against Hooda and Cong leaders

Chandigarh, Oct 15: Dozens of India Against Corruption (IAC) activists waved black flags and shouted anti-Congress slogans against Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress MP Naveen Jindal in Hisar on Sunday. The duo, along with other Congress leaders, were in Hisar to address a rally on the occasion of Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti.

Police said protesters including lawyer Rajesh Jakhar and activists Mahavir Sharma, Ashish Jain and three other women were arrested on charges of disrupting law and order order and produced in court. They were later released on bail.

IAC leader Arvind Kejriwal has attacked the Hooda government for favouring real estate giant DLF Limited for giving away prime land in Gurgaon and other parts of the National Capital Region at throw-away prices and also secretly tampering with terms and conditions.

On Sunday at around 1 pm, the protesters started waving black flags after entering the venue of the rally despite heavy police deployment and started shouting slogans against Hooda and Jindal. The Congress leaders had just reached the venue then.

Commotion followed for nearly half-an-hour after which the police resorted to force and whisked the protesters away. A few were taken into custody and booked under the relevant law provisions.
