Mumbai, Oct 8: Kingfisher Airlines' Chairman Vijay Mallya landed in trouble following a gruesome case in which wife of a Kingfisher Airlines employee committed suicide. A plea against Mr Mallya has been granted by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday, Oct 8.

The plea urged the NHRC panel to start a case against the 56-year-old chairman of the UB Group. 45-year-old Sushmita, wife of Kingfisher store manager Manas Chakravarti, committed suicide on Thursday, Oct 4. In her suicide note, Sushmita wrote, "My husband works with Kingfisher where they have not paid him salary for the last six months. We are in acute financial crisis and so I am committing suicide."

Sushmita also mentioned that no one was responsible for her death and feared that the company might close down soon. The case will definitely enhance Mr Mallya's owes as the carrier company has already been suffering over financial crisis and pilots and engineers strike.

Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on Sunday, Oct 7 reiterated that the crisis-ridden Kingfisher Airlines would have to satisfy aviation regulator DGCA on all aspects including safety and issue of non-payment of salaries to its employees in reply to the show-cause notice.

"DGCA has served a show-cause notice to Kingfisher to reply within 15-days... They (Kingfisher) have to come out with concrete plans on (how they are) arranging the finance and how it will pay salaries of employees and make other arrangements to run the airline," Singh said on the sidelines of an event.
