'Obama failed to handle economy particularly well'

New Delhi, Oct 7: Barack Obama may have got a faltering economy when he took charge as US President but did not handle it "particularly well" and Americans are now left with a still struggling economy in the midst of a presidential election, says double Pulitzer winner Bob Woodward in his new book.

The veteran journalist's "The Price of Politics" chronicles the inside story of how Obama and the US Congress tried, and failed, to restore the American economy and set it on a course to fiscal stability.

It spans the three and a half tumultuous years beginning just before Obama's inauguration in early 2009 and lasting through the summer of 2012. The book, published by Simon.
