Steven Fletcher - Sunderland
Sunderland earned their first win this season, thanks to a solitary goal from £12 million striker Steven Fletcher. The 25-year-old Scot has scored five goals in as many appearances for the Black Cats. Martin O'Niel's side are still unbeaten this season.
Carlos Tevez - Manchester City
In form Argentine Tevez has been Premier League champions talisman this season scoring three goals and providing four assists in six games. City remains unbeaten so far sitting in fourth place but have not started the season so well. Tevez, 28, is leading scorer for the reigning champions along with striker Edin Dzeko.
Demba Ba - Newcastle United
With six goals in six games, the Senegalese striker is the leading goal scorer at the moment. Ba, 27, has come to Newcastle's rescue twice this season, securing draws against Reading and Everton.
Jermain Defoe - Tottenham Hotspur
Defoe, 29, was part of the playing XI which beat Manchester United at Old Trafford, ending Spurs 23-year winless run at The Theatre of Dreams. Although Defoe did not score against United, the England international has already scored four goals in six games including an assist.
