EPL: Premier League Results Report
London, Sep 30: Tottenham ended their 23-year winless run at Old Trafford with 3-2 win over Manchester United on Saturday. Spurs centre-back Jan Vertonghen and winger Gareth Bale gave the visitors a two-goal lead in the first half.

Nani pulled one back for the Red Devils but Spurs maintained their two-goal advantage as Clint Dempsey scored in 52nd minute. United piled up the pressure in the second half as Shinji Kagawa narrowed Spurs' lead with a goal in the 54th minute.

Goals from Fernando Torres and Juan Mata kept Chelsea on top of the table as they beat London rivals Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates. Gunners winger Gervinho equalised in the first half but Arsene Wenger's side failed to maintain their unbeaten run. The Blues Spanish playmaker Mata scored the winner through a free-kick.

Luis Suarez helped Liverpool earn their first win this season with a hat-trick against Norwich City at Carrow Road. The Uruguayan, who scored a hat-trick in the corresponding fixture last season, inspired the Reds attacking display with sublime finishing.

Midfielder Nuri Sahin and captain Steven Gerrard also scored got on the score sheet as Brendan Rodgers sealed his first Premier League win with a comfortable 5-2 win.

Nikica Jelavic scored twice to maintain Everton's dream start to the season with 3-1 victory over Southampton. Gaston Ramirez put the Saints ahead in the 6th minute but Leon Osman equalised after 20 minutes. Croatian Jelavic twice in the space of 6 minutes to keep the Toffees in second place.

Premier League champions Manchester City fought back against Fulham to win 2-1 at Craven Cottage. Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko scored for the Citizens after Mladen Petric put the hosts ahead early in the first half.

Sunderland won their first game this season thanks to a solitary goal from striker Steven Fletcher against Wigan Athletic. The 25-year old Scot now has five goals in four games for the Black Cats.

Peter Crouch scored twice to help Stoke City register their win beating Swansea City 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium.

Reading and Newcastle United cancelled each other out at the Madjeski Stadium with a 2-2 draw. Jimmy Kebe and Noel Hunt scored for the Royals but Toons striker Demba Ba scored twice to restrict Reading their first win.
