Chelsea and Manchester City eye Cristiano Ronaldo

Madrid, Sep 30: Chelsea and Manchester City along with cash-rich french club Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

The 27-year old Portuguese superstar wants to become one of the world's best paid footballer but his ambition is only causing a rift with Real Madrid which has triggered interests from Europe's biggest clubs.

Ronaldo, who currently earns £7.98 million net, is placed 10th in the high earners list even below rival and Barcelona sensation Lionel Messi, who earns £8.35 million. Top of the list is Anzhi Makhachkala's forward Samuel Eto'o who earns a mammoth £15.91 million net.

Earlier this month, Ronaldo said: "I'm sad because of a professional issue and the club know why." However, Real were ready to sell their star for £160 million as Ronaldo eyes an increase in wages to nearly £11.8million net.

Reports also suggested that PSG and Anzhi were ready to meet Ronaldo's £15 million wage demands which would put him on top with highest paid footballer Eto'o.

In case Real renew Ronaldo's current contract, the club would have to pay 52 percent tax on the players wages compared to current 24%.
