Essar Oil, GSPC tie-up to commission CNG facility
Ahmedabad, Sept 29: Essar Oil and state-run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) would commission a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) facility at Botad in Bhavnagar, a statement issued by Essar Oil said.
The facility has come up alongside Essar's retail outlet at Botad which will be its 20th CNG outlet in the state, the company said. Essar's Marketing-CEO S Thangapandian said the tie-up with GSFC would provide customers with more fuel-filling options. Essar Oil, which currently operates about 225 retail outlets across Gujarat, intends to add 30 more facilities in different parts of the country.
Across Gujarat, Essar Oil has CNG sourcing tie-ups with GSPC, Sabarmati Gas, Adani Gas, GAIL and Gujarat Gas Corporation for selling CNG at its franchisee-owned and franchisee-operated outlets. GSPC, incorporated in 1979 as a petro-chemical company, is a state-owned oil and gas company with the state government holding approximately 95 per cent equity stake.
