Loudmouth Sena leader faces punishment for creating noise
However, the latest incident involving a budding leader of the political party, Ameya Ghole, treasurer of the Yuva Sena, youth wing of the Shiv Sena, can well serve as a lesson to them.
Ameya was arrested on Tuesday, Sept 25 for violating environmental norms by organising a party event at Shivaji Park in Mumbai last week. The park has been declared a 'silence zone.'
"A case was registered against Ghole under Section 3 of the Environment Protection Act and Sections 131 and 135 of the Bombay Police Act," informed a police official.
However, Ghole was later granted bail by a local court.
Sources say that Yuva Sena members organised the programme on Sept 22, although they had no permission for the event.
"The noise level at the three-hour programme crossed 100 decibels. The event saw traditional drums being played out, creating unbearable noise," added the official.
