Di Matteo will rest his stars keeping in mind the crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday and hand several fringe players an opportunity to shine against the Championship club.
Marko Marin, who is yet to start a match for the Blues, is likely to replace Eden Hazard on the left flank while Victor Moses could start on the right wing. Forward Lucas Piazon and right-back Cesar Azpilicueta could also start ahead of Juan Mata and Branislav Ivanovic, respectively.
John Terry, who recently announced retirement from international football, was rested against Stoke City but is unlikely to start tonight, meaning David Luiz and Gary Cahill will start at the back. Left-back Ashley Cole may be replaced by Ryan Bertrand.
Wolves, on the other hand, have won two back to back away matches in the Championship. Manager Stale Solbakken will put forward a strong side to get a decent result at the Bridge. They are likely to retain the same squad which beat Peterborough away from home last week.
*Wolves lost both home and away games against Chelsea as they were relegated from the Premier League last season.
*Chelsea have won the League Cup four times in their history.
