The Supreme Court earlier on Sept 17 had granted bail to the accused but citing CBI's plea not to allow her to be freed immediately, the apex court announced a postdated bail for Nupur.
"Nupur Talwar is likely to tamper with the evidence and abscond in case she is released on bail," said CBI in its 30-page affidavit filed in the apex court on Aug 9. However, the court instructed CBI to complete their examination of witnesses within Sept 25 and to release Nupur on the same day as per the deadline.
Nupur had struggled a lot to get bail while her husband Rajesh Talwar, co-accused in the case, is out on bail since long time.
Talwars lawyers in the apex court argued that important materials and critical witnesses had been presented and questioned. Therefore, there was no chance of Talwars influencing any one.
