The state BJP had taken a tough stance on rebel voices in the government by removing two Yeddyurappa loyalists, BJP spokesperson Ayanur Manjunath and the state's representative in New Delhi Dhananjaya Kumar, from their posts. The move has angered BSY and has called a meeting of his loyalists on Monday to decide on the future course of action.
Manjunath faced the axe for his unflattering comments against transport minister R Ashok while Dhananjaya Kumar lost the post for his proximity to Yeddyurappa.
Yeddyurappa, meanwhile, is still hopeful of bagging the state BJP President's post. With the Assembly polls only seven months away, his threat of breaking his allegiance from the BJP has not caused much impact among party leaders.
He has also been quoted as saying, "Politics has become corrupt, it's time to clean it up. We need more and more honest people to enter politics."
