Rodgers will call back most of his senior players Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina, Martin SKrtel, Daniel Agger Glen Johnson and Joe Allen after resting them for the midweek clash in Switzerland.

Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey could play along side Allen after a match winning performance in the Europa League, scoring twice to hand Liverpool a crucial away victory.

Darren Flethcer, who made a substitute appearance against Galatasaray in the Champions League, is likely to be benched while left-back Alex Buttner may retain his place in the starting XI.
