Aarushi: Nupur Talwar granted bail but to remain in jail
The Supreme Court has granted bail to Mrs Talwar but she will not be released immediately from Dasna jail as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has claimed that few witnesses were yet to be examined and Nupur could influence them if she goes out of jail.
However, the apex court instructed the CBI saying that Mrs Talwar should be released on Sept 25 and the court will not consider CBI's plea to keep Mrs Talwar inside the jail after the deadline.
After a high drama, Mrs Talwar, a doctor by profession, was lodged in Ghaziabad jail on Apr 30. She struggled a lot to get bail while her husband Rajesh Talwar, co-accused in the case, is out on bail since long time.
Talwars lawyers in the apex court argued that important materials and critical witnesses had been presented and questioned. Therefore, there was no chance of Talwars influencing any one.
14-year-old Aarushi was found dead in their Noida residence on May 15, 2008. Initially, the needle of suspicion was pointed towards Hemraj, Talwar's servant. But soon Aarushi's parents came under the scanner when Hemraj's body was found on the terrace of the Talwar's residence on the next day.
