Former RSS chief KS Sudarshan passes away

Raipur, Sept 15: Former head of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh K Sudarshan passed away early Saturday. Aged 81, he reportedly died of a fatal heart attack in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He was heading the RSS from the period between 2000 to 2009.

Sudarshan was not keeping well since the last couple of years and under the care of an attendant. He is survived by a brother.

Recently, in August this year he was in the news after it was reported that he was missing from his brother's place in Mysore where he had gone missing. Suffering from amnesia, police sources had then stated that the 81-year-old Sudarshan had lost his way home and was found sitting alone along the road near the Lalit Mahal helipad in Mysore.

Born on June 18, 1931, Kuppalli Sitaramayya Sudarshan was known for his hard line stand when he led the RSS. He was a vocal critic of the BJP and the NDA, especially on their economic policies.
