Kudankulam protest
Kudankulam, Sept 10: The anti-Kudankulam protest seems to be turning ugly when latest reports reveal that violent clashes have erupted between protestors and police personnel. As many as 4000 protestors have gathered in the protest area, with police trying hard to disperse the crowd. Police have resorted to lathicharge and fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Refusing to move out from the protest site, the determined protestors are seeking the intervention of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa in the matter to resolve the issue.

In dramatic visuals shown on television reports, the protestors were seen fleeing to the sea to escape the onslaught of the policemen. It has to be remembered that Sec 144 has been imposed in the area. The Inspector General of Police had also issued a warning to the protestors to disperse from the area.

There have been no immediate reports of arrest.
