Narendra Modi's Guj succeeds whereas Sheila's Delhi fails
While attending the inaugural ceremony of Asia's first Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) conference in Ahmedabad, Modi on Thursday, Sept 6 claimed, "Gujarat succeeds where Delhi fails."
Modi slammed Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit's government over the pathetic performance of the BRTS in the national capital.
Management experts from Asia, Latin America and Africa and many others attended the function which was believed to have organised against the backdrop of 'best practices of Janmarg Ltd BRTS model' in Delhi.
Speaking at the function, the Gujarat CM also announced a plan to set up a Multi-Modal Affordable Transport Authority (MATA) aiming better developments in the urban areas of the state.
Modi claimed that a multi-modal transport system was essential in order to fulfil the dreams of constructing "world-class" cities along with the coastline of the state.
The CM compared Ahmedabad and Surat with other cities in the country saying that they have maximum commute time of 20 minutes, while people in other cities need 45-60 minutes time to commute within the city limits.
