Manchester, Aug 28: Manchester City are ready to shell-out £60 million prior to the summer transfer deadline to allow manager Roberto Mancini to sign top targets.

The Italian vented his frustration over chairman Brian Marwood after City's hierarchy failed to meet the managers demand to spend on high profile players.

Young midfielder Jack Rodwell has been the Citizens only signing this summer while Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair is nearing £6.2m switch to the Etihad Stadium.

Mancini has not given up hopes of signing Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, despite the 29-year-old renewed his contract recently. Sources suggest that City could lure him to the Premier League. De Rossi is Mancini's No. 1 target this summer with a price-tag of around £30 million.

City are also eyeing Benfica defensive midfielder Javi Garcia in case the champions fail to sign De Rossi. City's first-team coach was sent to scout Garcia during Benfica's 5-0 thrashing of Vitoria Setubal on Sunday.

The former Real Madrid player would cost City nearly £23.8m and is under contract with the Portuguese club until 2016.

Mancini also targets Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez. The 25-year-old Spain international is heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but due to his high asking price, the move continues to delay. The La Liga side want £31.7m for the midfielder.

City also want to sign 19-year-old Fiorentina defender Matija Nastasic while centre-half Stefan Savic could be offered in exchange plus cash. Their proposed deal to sign defender Daniel Agger collapsed after Liverpool demanded £25m for the Dane.
