Shahrukh Khan in fresh soup for insulting tricolour

Mumbai, Aug 21: After a rather public spectacle at the Wankhede stadium displayed by Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, it looks like trouble seems to be following the superstar. Recent reports suggest that an FIR was registered against the actor for allegedly insulting the tricolour.

The FIR was filed at the Chatuhshrungi police station and is based on a YouTube video uploaded in April last year. The case has been transferred to the Mumbai police for further probe. The complaint has been filed by Ravi Brahme. Brahme had earlier filed a complaint against model Gehna Vashishth for wearing the tricolour like a bikini. The incident had sparked an outrage after she insulted the national flag.

According to Brahme's complaint, Khan was waving the tricolour upside down in a video. The video was uploaded to YouTube from a television channel programme.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shahaji Umap has been quoted as saying, "Khan has been booked under Sections of Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act, 1971. There is a provision to register complaint of any jurisdiction and then get it transferred accordingly. The case was registered on Aug 14 and has been transferred to zone nine of Mumbai police for further investigation. The complainant has attached some photos and videos with the complaint."
