Twist in Aarushi case: Female DNA found on parents' cloths
BP Mahapatra, the senior scientist of Central Forensic Science laboratory, was summoned in the court on Tuesday, Aug 14. While informing about the findings, Mr Mahapatra stated that blood stains were found on the clothes that Nupur and Rajesh Talwar wore on the night of Aarushi's murder and, on examination, female DNA was found.
Meanwhile, RK Saini, the public prosecutor said that no blood and DNA were found from the bag which was handed over to CBI by Nupur from Aarushi's room as a piece of evidence.
Mr Saini has been quoted as saying, "Blood and biological material were also not found on the cover of the book given to CBI by the accused from Aarushi's bed saying it had blood on the cover page."
Earlier, Mr Mahapatra told the court that besides the partial male DNA, blood stains were found on the pillow that matched Aarushi's group. Female DNA and blood stains found on the wall and door of Aarushi's room also matched her group, he said.
The revelations may work as a major setback for Mr and Mrs Talwar. Recently, the Supreme Court also adjourned the court hearing over Nupur's bail plea till Sept 17. With the court ruling, Mrs Talwar can not come out of Dasna jail in Gurgaon near Delhi soon. She was lodged in the jail on Apr 30.
