Chandigarh, Aug 9: The police today recovered cash amounting to Rs one crore and some valuables from the house of Fiza alias Anuradha Bali, the estranged wife of Chander Mohan Bali who was a former deputy chief minister of Haryana.

Fiza was found dead by one of her paternal uncles in the same house on Aug 6. Initially the police believed that it was a case of suicide but the postmortem report was inconclusive and only mentioned the absence of injury marks on the body. The viscera has been sent for further tests.

Fiza had earlier attempted suicide on Jan 30, 2009. However, she survived that time. The former Haryana Assistant Advocate General and Chander Mohan, son of two-time Haryana CM Bhajan Lal, had created a political storm when they married in Dec 2008.

Within a matter of months, the couple drifted apart and Chander Mohan went back to his first wife with whom he has two kids.

Fiza had claimed that Chander Mohan had sent her an SMS announcing his separation by messaging 'talaq' three times which Fiza rejected.

Fiza then not only accused Chander Mohan of raping her, she also claimed to have been repeatedly harassed by Bhajan Lal's family.
