Image of Balkrishna, who was arrested by the CBI after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a special court here in an alleged fake documents case, was shown in a poster with freedom fighters such as - Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Subhash Chandra Bose and many others.
The poster has been put up at Ramlila Maidan. Comparing Balkrishna with freedom fighters may create another controversy for the yoga guru at the time when he resumed his second round of indefinite fast demanding to bring back black money stashed abroad.
On Jul 10, the agency had filed a case against Balkrishna in a case relating to alleged submission of alleged fake and forged documents to obtain an Indian passport.
The agency has alleged that Balkrishna along with the then Principal of Sanskrit Mahavidayala, Khurja in Uttar Pradesh had conspired to issue the former fake educational certificates which he used to obtain passport.
Amid all such controversies, Ramdev got support from at least 15,000 followers who gathered at Ramlila on the very first day of the indefinite protest.
Ramdev's second round of protest will also witness an expansion of his agenda from black money to Lokpal Bill, making CBI independent and a more transparent procedure for appointing Election Commissioners, CAG, CVC and CBI Director.
Ramdev's previous protest in Ramlila Maidan from Jun 4, 2011 ended in a midnight police crackdown on Jun 6 morning with authorities claiming that he violated the norms agreed upon. He was caught by police while trying to flee from the venue in women's attire.
