Crude bomb bag in Pune found near IAC protest site

Pune, Aug 2: With the Pune serial bomb blasts on late Wednesday night outraging the nation due to the meticulous planning in which it was carried out near the busy Jungli Maharaj road, another shocking fact was revealed when the unassuming person who picked up the bag carrying the crude bomb found in the same near the protest site of India Against Corruption (IAC).

Following the probe into the blasts, investigation and police officials have asked the IAC protesters to suspend their agitation and leave the venue in lieu of the probe into the area of the blast. The protest site is in close proximity of the blast site. The IAC supporters have obliged with the police request and suspended their agitation.

IAC member Deepak Bharadia has been quoted as saying in Pune, "We have suspended our protest for today."

The local tailor, Dayanand Patil who was injured in the blast revealed to investigators during questioning that he had picked up the bag from near the IAC venue. He had picked up another bag that was heavier and during the course of checking its contents, the bomb exploded.

The investigative officials still maintains that the tailor remains a suspect. Latest reports say that Patil's wife has also been picked up by the ATS for questioning.
