Pinki Pramanik
Kolkata, Jul 17: Allegations and reverse allegations have confused people over the Pinki Pramanik case in which several twists have revealed different stories so far. This time the needle of the allegation has been pointed against West Bengal CPM MP Jyotirmoyee Sikdar's husband, Avatar Singh.

In a shocking revelation, Pinki's ex-live-in partner Anamika claimed that she was forced to blackmail Pinki and Avatar Singh was the mastermind in circulating Pinki's MMS.

According to Anamika, Avatar Singh allegedly instructed her to take nude pictures of the rape accused athlete (Pinki) and then blackmail her in order to get back a disputed land which was allotted to Pinki.

Anamika also submitted a taped telephonic conversation between her and Avatar Singh as an evidence to prove her claim. Currently, the tape is at the West Bengal police's possession.

Co-incidentally, Jyotirmoyee Sikdar, who is also a former athlete, was one of the most active campaigners who protested against Pinki's arrest over rape charges.

Pinki was arrested on Jun 24 following the complaints made by Anamika saying that Pinki is "not a woman, instead she is a man" and she had raped the complainant.

The middle distance runner, who won one silver medal and five gold medals between 2005 and 2006, retired in 2007. According to reports, due to her 'excessive male hormones', Pinki was not allowed in a Madurai national meet.

Following the rape allegations, Pinki was made to undergo a gender test which is yet to be made public.

Meanwhile, the athlete hogged the limelight after a 29-second MMS clip of Pinki undergoing a gender determination test in a private hospital went viral. The clip showed Pinki in an unclothed state undergoing the test.

A PIL was moved in the Calcutta High Court on Jul 6 after the MMS was leaked. The court directed the West Bengal government to file an affidavit within two weeks on the progress of the investigation.

However, Pinki got bail after 25 days but once again she faced another controversy when West Bengal government claimed that she was involved in a land scam.

Madan Mitra, State Sports Minister, told newspersons on Jul 11 that Pinki had sold a three-cottah plot that was handed over by the government on a lease.

Mamata Banerjee's government has started an inquiry into land scam case involving Pinki. Now, with the new allegation against Avatar Singh may bring a different shocking story.
