Saudi Arabia allows two female athletes to compete in London Olympics

A very good news indeed! Saudi Arabia has finally allowed women to take part in Olympics for the first time in the nation's history.

Until Thursday's announcement, Saudi Arabia was on its way to be the only country in the world heading to the London Games without a single female athlete. Earlier, Qatar and Brunei had agreed to send women for the first time.

17-year-old Sarah Attar, an 800-metre runner lives in California and judo athlete Wodjan Ali Seraj Abdulrahim Shahrkhani, who will become the first women to compete under the Saudi flag.

Its sure is a small step but will mark the beginning in improving of status of women in the country.
