Yeddyurappa mellows down; loyalists withdraw resignation
Bommai also stated that the BJP central leadership has assured Yeddyurappa that the Karnataka BJP crisis will be resolved soon.
Earlier, CM Sadananda Gowda was expected to meet the BJP central leadership after the Yeddyurappa faction set a Jul 5 deadline for a change of leadership. The BSY faction wanted their nominee Jagadish Shettar to be named the CM with Shettar also releasing a list of 52 MLAs who were supporting him. In an obvious means to exert their political high handedness, nine ministers had sent their resignation to cause trouble to the Gowda government.
