London, Jun 30: Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi suffered a 3-6, 1-6 defeat in their mixed doubles second round match at Wimbledon here today.

The unseeded pair of Paul Hanley and A Kurdryavtseva did not find too difficult to get past the sixth seeds in the first set. Sania and Bhupathi tamely surrendered the second.

The loss means Bhupathi is out of the tournament but Sania has a chance left in the women's doubles where she and Bethanie Mattek-Sands have entered the third round.
