Bomb threat to Delhi metro station, investigation on

New Delhi, Jun 29: Security at Delhi's Sikanderpur Metro station has been beefed up on Friday, Jun 29 following a call from an anonymous person threatening to blow the station with a planted bomb.

Police control room in Delhi received the call around 12:40 PM. The caller claimed that a bomb was planted at the Sikanderpur Metro station on the Jehangir Puri-Gurgaon line.

An investigative team along with the bomb squad officials began search operation to locate the planted bomb.

Dog squad has also been called into action to help the police in the search operation. The call threatening to blow the station came at the time when Abu Jundal, the suspected handler of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and accused of many other terror activities in India, was being interrogated in the national capital.

Earlier, the home ministry had alerted Orissa and Maharashtra as an intelligence agency informed about possible terror attacks in several Indian states.
