The move came after UPA's presidential nominee, Pranab Mukherjee sought Trinamool MP Kabir Suman's support to bid for the top constitutional position.
"Pranab M directly called up a TMC MP seeking support. Politically ethical to do? Or trying to break TMC? Try & try again. Won't break :)." tweeted Derek.
"Lots of Breaking News on President polls. But 'he' who is trying to Break TMC can try another 1000 times... Your time starts now," he tweeted.
According to reports, Suman assured his support to Pranab Mukherjee.
Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress is at loggerheads with the UPA for choosing Pranab Mukherjee as the Presidential nominee. Despite its attempts to coax its ally and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, she refused to stoop to their choice and backed former President APJ Abdul Kalam for the post before he pulled himself out of the race.
