It seems that Congress and other allies of UPA government have left Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister completely isolated.
After her meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other prominent leaders, Mrs Gandhi announced that the UPA government would not support the suggestion given by Ms Banerjee. The TMC supremo raised voice for APJ Abdul Kalam and confirmed that the former president would contest in the Presidential election.
Pranab Mukherjee has been felicitated at the 7RCR following the announcement of Mrs Gandhi. Now, it would be interesting to see whom NDA would support.
Meanwhile, sources informed that NDA is unlikely to oppose the Finance Minister which would prove that Mr Mukherjee would be the consensus candidate for the poll.
