Andhra Pradesh by-poll results: Jagan, an undeclared winner?
The results will be announced on Friday, Jun 15 but a survey shows that despite all corruption allegations against him, Jagan has managed to gather support from aam-aadmi (common man).
A survey, which was conducted by one of the popular online portal OneIndia, shows that 65.9 percent people believe that Jagan will emerge victorious in the by-polls while only 18.9 percent people claim that corruption charges against the party supremo will prove fatal for YSR Congress. Though many people still believe that Jagan's arrest ahead of the crucial elections will prove beneficial for his party.
However, the fate has been sealed for politicos. It is believed that the polls results will also redefine the politics of the state in more ways than one.
The Nellore Lok Sabha constituency registered a phenomenal 70 percent voting, while the assembly segments recorded an average of 80 percent turnout.
Meanwhile, sources informed that Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) may join their hands to counter the latent threat from Jagan and his party.
The reported secret move by the Congress might be a step to avoid any threat to the Kiran Kumar Reddy's government. According to experts, Kiran's government can only fall if TDP supports Jagan.
MV Mysura Reddy, YSR Congress leader, has been quoted as saying, "The TDP, as the main opposition party, is to be watched after the results. If it supports the Congress just because it is opposing the YSR Congress, it will be suicidal for the party."
