Baba Ramdev seeks independent probe into irregularities

New Delhi, Jun 12: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday demanded a independent probe into the allegations for flouting some key guidelines of the RBI, that is looked into by the Enforcement Directorate.

"Whatever we were doing till now was charity in the eyes of government till June 4 and after my agitation against them, it became questionable... We are fighting in tribunal and will fight in court. We have not committed any crime. Government has always tried to defame us and will keep doing it always," he said.

Baba Ramdev's trust is under the ED scanner for allegedly flouting rules to escape duty worth crores of rupees.

Earlier, Baba Ramdev's trust was slapped with a notice of Rs 4.49 crore by the Service Tax department for alleged duty evasion on the income made through conducting 'yog shivirs'.
