Bangalore whistleblower murdered,4 contract killers arrested

Bangalore, Jun 7: Within few days of the murder of SP Mahantesh, Bangalore police claimed that they have solved the case. The police on Thursday, Jun 7 arrested four contract killers who allegedly killed Mahantesh who was a whistle-blower and Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer.

The four persons - Kiran, Shivakumar, Murli and Aiyappa have been accused of attacking and killing Mahantesh who played an important role in exposing the truth in a cooperative housing scam case. Police also have seized a car which believed to have been used in the crime.

48-year-old Mahantesh was found unconscious on May 15 near a hotel in the city and was rushed to hospital. Later he succumbed to his injuries on May 17.

The KAS officer, known for his integrity, was working as deputy director of the audit wing in the state's cooperative department and had reported irregularities in different societies involving some officials and political figures.
