(BSP) finally on Wednesday, Jun 6 announced that they will not contest the by-elections for Kannauj parliamentary constituency.

A party spokesperson, while declaring the decision of BSP, said, "The party has decided not to field its candidate in by-election for Kannauj parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh."

Citing the latest move by BSP and Mayawati camp, many started speculating that the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister might be scared of losing the battle against Dimple - wife of Akhilesh Yadav, who took over the throne from Mayawati in the recent assembly election in the state.

However, the BSP spokesperson ruled out all speculations while alleging that Samajwadi Party has started projecting Dimple as a saviour of the party as people in the state are disappointed with Akhilesh Yadav and his government.

"Now continuing with its tradition of nepotism, SP has fielded Dimple Yadav, wife of UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, as its candidate in Kannuaj by-election," said the BSP official and also added, "People's experience of SP's 'development' had been very bitter as Mulayam did not display political honesty, took care of only his home district Etawah while ignoring even his parliamentary constituency whether it was Mainpuri or Sambhal."

Earlier on Tuesday, Congress also declared that they too would skip the election by not naming any candidate's name for the upcoming by-poll in Kannauj which was represented by Akhilesh Yadav before becoming the CM of the state.
