RSS sees another Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Narendra Modi
The Sangh Parivar publication claimed that Modi has the potentiality to become the next Prime Minister of the country "single-handedly".
Remembering Vajpayee and his deeds during 1990s, RSS mouthpiece says Modi is "by far the most popular leader in the country".
The Sangh Parivar believes that BJP can rule and dominate the upcoming parliamentary polls in 2014 if they announce Modi's name for the PM candidate.
The article voices for the Gujarat CM and hopes that BJP can retain its glory as the party had experienced in the 1990s led by Vajpayee.
However, the article received criticism and RSS' Hindi weekly Panchajanya also joined the critiques. Meanwhile, sources in Organiser claimed that the article has been written following the developments in Gujarat under Modi's leadership.
Media reports quoted some sources as saying, "We have been consistently praising his achievements in Gujarat and the decision to publish the article should be seen in that light."
Speculations over the BJP candidate for Lok Sabha election 2014 has been haunting the party. While many voice for Modi, many still remain in the anti-Modi camp and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, whose party JD(U) is one of the strongest ally in NDA, is reportedly one among them.
However, senior BJP leader LK Advani, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, party president Nitin Gadkari's names also have been raised for the PM candidate for the upcoming election in 2014.
