Nigeria plane crash: Both engines failed before it went down

Nigerian Plane Crash
Nigeria, Jun 5: The flight that crashed in Lagos, Nigeria that killed all 153 people on board reported that both the engines failed, said Nigerian Civil Aviation Chief Harold Demuren on Tuesday.

"They declared mayday," he said.

"The reason was that the two engines failed," said Harold Demuren, adding that the cause was not clear on what led to the engine failure.

Dana Air MD83's airline, which was on its way from Abuja to Lagos. The flight had 147 passengers and six crew on board.

While the pilot of the plane was American, the co-pilot was Indian, said Demuren.

The rescue workers recovered dead bodies from the remains of the plane.
