Noida, Jun 4: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Monday pinned his hope on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar that he will back the Lokpal issue after he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha.

"We welcome and congratulate him. Sachin should raise his voice against corruption and also in favour of the Lokpal issue. We will keep supporting him from outside," said Anna Hazare.

Ex-Lokayukta, Karnataka, Santosh Hegde said that he did not think that the Team was expecting anything from the cricketer.

"I, as a member of Team Anna, wish him all the best," he said.

Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said that he hoped that Sachin Tendulkar put in efforts to bring a strong law against corruption in the Rajya Sabha.

Sachin was sworn in as a Rajya Sabha member on Monday.
