Rajahmundry (AP), May 28: YSR Congress leader and former Andhra Pradesh Minister Pilli Subash Chandra Bose said on Tuesday that his party would bag the maximum number of seats in the June 12 by-elections in the state. Alleging the Congress was instrumental in the arrest of YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, he said the ruling party was frightened by the prospect of losing the by-polls to 18 Assembly and one Lok Sabha seat.

Bose said the Congress was jealous of the popularity of Jagan and his party. In the absence of the Kadapa MP, his mother YS Vijaya will lead the campaign, he said. "We are confident that our party will bag the maximum number of seats in the by-elections. Bose welcomed the Election Commission direction to the police to release YSR Congress activists and leaders who were taken into preventive custody and put under house arrest. "We welcome the decision taken by the EC," he said.
