Upset LK Advani likely to skip BJP rally today

Mumbai, May 24: Senior BJP leader LK Advani is likely to skip Friday's rally apparently upset over the decision of BJP central leadership to extend party president Nitin Gadkari's tenure for the second term.

Reports suggest that Advani is also upset with former scam tainted Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa for endorsing Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as the prime ministerial candidate.

Praising Narendra Modi, Yeddyurappa said, "The national executive should deliberate on the issues rocking Karnataka, Gujarat and Rajasthan and promote Modi as the prime ministerial candidate."

"According to a survey, Modi is the most popular leader of the country and the party must think on these lines and take decisions," said Yeddyurappa.

"Modi is popular because he has done great work in Gujarat and made the state number one in the country," he said.

He further said that Modi could not be compared to BJP leader LK Advani or former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
