New Delhi, May 21: Nupur Talwar, mother of slain teenager Aarushi Talwar, who is also an accused in the double murder case of Aarushi and the domestic help Hemraj now wants to adopt a baby girl. Nupur, a dentist by profession, is presently lodged in the Dasna jail. With the case still involved in legal tangles, Nupur’s bail plea was also rejected recently.

Four years after the brutal murder of Aarushi Talwar, the CBI is yet to gather key evidence on the double murder. According to reports, the girl child that Nupur wants to adopt is also lodged in the Dasna jail where she stays with her mother.

But according to rules and the legal point of view, Nupur will only be able to adopt the child after she moves out of jail. After evading arrest for a while, Nupur had surrendered before the special CBI court following directions by the Supreme Court.

Nupur’s fresh appeal for a bail was extended after the Allahabad High Court on May 16 deferred the hearing on her bail plea to May 22. Thus, she will have to stay in jail for a while longer until she gets a reprieve from court.

The 14-year-old, Aarushi, was found dead at the Nupur and Rajesh Talwar's Noida residence with her throat slit on May 16, 2008. The body of Hemraj was found on the terrace of the house the next day. With no clear motive for the murder established, fingers have been pointed to the role of the parents in the murder of the teenager.
