New Delhi, May 16: Former Telecom Minister and 2G accused A Raja who was released on bail on Tuesday in the multi-crore 2G spectrum scam, in a surprise move, came to attend the Parliament on Wednesday. The move has raised quite a few eyebrows on why he chose to attend Parliament after he walked out of jail after a gap of 15 months.

Accompanied by party functionaries, he walked to the Parliament building in a confident stride and refused to talk to the media contingent present there. He only commented in the midst of the melee, “I have to go to Parliament.”

Raja walked out of the Tihar jail to receive a hero's welcome after Special CBI judge OP Saini granted him bail in the landmark 2G spectrum case. His party, the DMK was in jubilation over the news. Tuesdays court hearing was attended by Raja's wife, DMK MP Kanimozhi and others.

As per court orders, Raja will not be able to go to Tamil Nadu or his former office without the court's approval. The celebrations outside the court premises also saw a minor scuffle between media personnel and Raja supporters. Meanwhile, preparations are underway to provide meals to visitors from his home-town, Permabalur, and his constituency of Nilgiris in Delhi.
