UP constable seeks President Patil's permission to kill self
According to Harishchandra, who is posted at police line in Fatehpur said that exploitation and harrasment from higher authority forced him to take such an extreme step.
"I have written to the President. I have written to the Chief Minister and also the district administration, but no one listens to me. I keep getting headache. I have lost vision in my right eye. Doctors tell me that I faint due to stress," said the 35-year-old in an interview with NDTV, He further said that he saw "no end to this exploitation."
"Since the day I have taken over as the district SP, not once has the constable come to me. I will get the charges probed and do what I think is right," said RK Chaturvedi, district Superintendent of Police.
"There is no provision for allowing someone to end his life, but if someone wants to commit suicide, there is a railway track and they are free to die," said the Superintendent.
