Aarushi: Talwar's woes worsen,murder trial to begin on May 9

Noida, May 3: The

trial against Nupur Talwar and Rajesh Talwar, the main suspects in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, will begin on May 9.

Nupur Talwar, who is currently lodged at the Dasna Jail has moved the Allahabad High Court seeking bail. Her bail plea was earlier dismissed by the Allahabad Sessions Court to May 9 and the trial date will be decided on Monday.

Earlier Nupur's bail plea was rejected on the grounds that she may tamper with evidence.

"Prima facie there is evidence to show the involvement of the accused in the murder. Nupur is also accused of obliterating evidence. Legal history is replete with instances of matricide, patricide and fratricide and everything is possible in the modern era," said the judge on Wednesday.

Nupur Talwar and Rajesh Talwar, the parents of slain teenager Aarushi Talwar, have been accused of killing their 14-year-old teenage daughter and their domestic help Hemraj at their Noida residence in 2008. The case has remained unsolved since then and is suspected to be a case of honour killing.

According to the CBI, the Talwar's are the main suspects in the case. The Talwar's, however, cried foul alleging that the needle of suspicion was pointed to them because the CBI failed to find the killers in the case.
