Hafiz Saeed
USA, Apr 30: Cameron P Munter, US Ambassador to Pakistan has claimed that the US has not announced any exclusive bounty for Hafiz Saeed, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief.

He blamed the Pakistan media for "misreporting the issue of Hafiz Saeed."

"Pakistani media is very active and responsible but it misreported the issue of Hafiz Saeed. Though Hafiz Saeed is a suspected accused of the Mumbai terror attacks, the US government didn't place any bounty/head money for him," he said.

He said that the bounty was not specifically declared for Hafiz Saeed but for any clue that could lead to the arrest or conviction of any terrorist declared by the UN.

"Though the role of Pakistan and US is to assist the process of dialogue, Afghanistan itself has to make a solution to this issue finally," he said talking over the Afghan peace efforts.

US had earlier declared a $10 million bounty on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks suspect, Hafiz Saeed.
